0745 hrs. Sunday Fun Run through familiar environs. Hard to qualify, but this was my "best" six-mile run since moving. The combination of heat, humidity, and hills have taken a bit of getting used to; however, I've definitely felt more comfortable with each run. I was in a nice groove from beginning to end this morning. Hit the road to 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius), 90% humidity, and a slight breeze from the south. Stopped at mile 3 for a life-saving water stop and rested for five minutes before completing the second half of the run. Very warm, but after a month in town, the heat and humidity are becoming a bit more manageable. Left the music at the shack. 0930 hrs. Tuesday Morning Run. Reversed the loop for S and G's. Out the door to overcast skies and a slight breeze. Temp was a manageable 74 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius) with 90% relative humidity. Spartacus Redux Mix on the box. Once again, started with an unsustainable 9:15 first mile, followed by 9:41 for the second. Returned to form for miles three and four. Completed the 4.07 miles in 40:29 for a 9:57 min/mile pace. 0800 hrs. Sunday Morning Run and the first run of September. Yesterday marked the first time in ten years that this author missed game day in Norman. I made a custom of running through the campus in the early morning hours as the tailgaters prepared for the game. I'll definitely miss it. Anyhow, hit the trail this AM to 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius) and 95% humidity. Sans music. Completed the 4.14 miles in 43:06 for a 10:25 mni/mile pace. Mahalo.
